    How to send or receive money using Airtel International Money Transfer

    Many people love to send and receive money from loved ones abroad, with the recently launched Airtel International Money Transfer (IMT), this opens up a whole new world for Airtel subscribers in Africa. With the many other options available, people can now send money from anywhere in the world to their loved ones in most African countries directly to their mobile wallet , bank account, or to an bank agent.

    Airtel International Money Transfer is the company’s response to MTN’s newly announced money remittance service called MTN Homeland. Airtel Uganda has more than 11 million subscribers and thousands of agents, so this new services opens up a whole new world for it’s customers.

    Airtel International Money Transfer is a new service that makes it easier to receive money from countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, USA, UK directly to your Airtel Money account. With this service, customers will also be able to receive from other African countries such as Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Somalia and Malawi.

    In order to send money using Airtel International Money Transfer, the sender can use “any intermediary company like World remit, wave, Pegasus etc to send money when abroad to an Airtel user in Uganda.

    As soon as the money is sent, the Airtel customer receives the money as a credit on their Airtel Money account/ wallet. You will get an SMS notification as soon as it arrives on your mobile wallet. Just like any other withdraw, there will be no difference with Airtel International Money Transfer as the recipient will charged normal withdraw fees when they want to withdraw the money from their Airtel Money account.
