How to pay school fees using Equity Bank’s banking platforms

Paying school fees in Uganda has become easier with Equity Bank’s digital banking platforms, including the Equity Mobile app, *247# USSD code, and EazzyNet internet banking. These tools allow parents and guardians to settle school fees quickly and securely, reducing the need for cash or branch visits.

Equity Bank’s platforms support payments to schools registered with the bank, often via a school paybill number or merchant till. Here’s how to proceed:

    Using the Equity Mobile App

    • Download the app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, and log in using your PIN or biometric authentication. Ensure you’ve registered with your account number and national ID.
    • Navigate to “Pay with Equity” or “Pay Bills.” Choose “School Fees” or enter the school’s paybill number or merchant till number (provided by the school).
    • Input the student’s unique number, the amount, and any reference details (e.g., term or invoice number). Verify the school’s or student’s name to avoid errors.
    • Authorize the transaction with your PIN. Funds are transferred instantly, and you’ll receive a confirmation SMS. Download the transaction receipt from the app for record-keeping.

    Using USSD (*247#)

    • Dial *247# with your registered phone number and enter your mobile banking PIN.
    • Select “Pay Bills” or “School Fees,” then enter the school’s paybill or till number. Input the student’s details and amount, then confirm with your PIN.
    • The payment is processed immediately, with a confirmation SMS sent to you.

    Using EazzyNet (Internet Banking)

    • Log into EazzyNet via the Equity Bank Uganda website using your credentials.
    • Go to “Payments,” select “Bill Payments,” and enter the school’s paybill number, student details, and amount. Confirm the transaction, and the payment is processed in real time.

      Fees and considerations

School fee payments typically incur a small transaction fee, depending on the amount and platform used. Check Equity Bank’s tariff guide for specifics. Some schools may require payments via specific paybill numbers, so confirm these details with the institution beforehand. The app and EazzyNet allow you to save school details as favorites for recurring payments, streamlining future transactions.
