    How to make, view, share and scan a Snapcode

    Snapchat is the go-to tool for most social media lovers, with many functionalities that are hidden and get useful. One of them is called a Snapcode. This is a special kind of image that you can scan with Snapchat to do different things. You can send and scan Snapcodes that add new friends, unlock Filters and Lenses, link to websites, connect to exclusive content, and more! They make it easy for other Snapchatters to find you! They can scan this code to add you as a friend.

    How to scan a Snapcode 📸

    You can scan Snapcodes with the Snapchat camera. Look for Snapcodes on film posters, websites, friends’ devices – anywhere!

    To scan a Snapcode:

    1. Open Snapchat and point your camera at the Snapcode
    2. Press and hold the Snapcode on your screen to scan it 👆

    2. Press and hold the Snapcode on your screen to scan it 👆

    When you meet a new friend in person, you can scan their Snapcode in your My Profile to add them fast.

    Scan a Snapcode from your Camera Roll 📲

    You can also scan Snapcodes that are in images saved to your device’s Camera Roll.

    To scan a Snapcode from your Camera Roll:

    1. Tap ⚙️ in My Profile to open Settings
    2. Tap “Snapcodes
    3. Tap “Scan from Camera Roll” and choose a picture that has a Snapcode in it!

    View and share a friend’s Snapcode 👀

    To help your friends add each other! You can view a friend’s Snapcode and show it to your other friends so they can all connect!

    To view and send an existing friend’s Snapcode:

    1. Swipe right to the Friends screen
    2. Press and hold on a friend’s name
    3. Tap “More
    4. Tap “Share Snapcode

    There are also options to send that friend’s username to your other friends or share a special URL that links to that friend’s My Profile.

    Make a custom Snapcode 🛠

    You can make your own custom Snapcode that links to a website when someone scans it!

    To make your own Snapcode:

    1. Tap ⚙️ in My Profile to open Settings or go to this page
    2. Tap “Snapcodes
    3. Tap “Create Snapcode
    4. Type in a URL – the website address that the Snapcode links to
    5. Add an image (optional)

    You can send your custom Snapcode to friends or save it to your Camera Roll! You can also edit the Snapcode or see how many times it’s been scanned.
