The iPhone X. The one iPhone that ushered in the $1000 price mark when it came to iPhones and also Apple’s 10th Anniversary iPhone, one so good that Apple so it wise not to keep it around.. Surprisingly it was discontinued when the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR where launched but it still remains uncommon in hands of most Ugandans lets say like the iPhone 6, 6S, 7 or even the 8.
Is it because it is expensive given the $1000 price tag, adding URA taxes and retailer profits or is it that stock levels are low owing to the fact that Apple hit the red button on it? It turns out these devices are still available and today we give you a quick rundown on how to get one on the cheap.
Device Trade ins
First, you create a good relationship with device retailer. Probably buy your first iPhone from him and you trade in that very iPhone for a newer iPhone X with a top up of course.
Like we said above, this happens after creating rapport with the retailer probably after a long period of time while being a royal customer.
You should put into consideration that the trade in iPhone/device should be in good shape and working condition.
Buying it Online
In Uganda the most pronounced online retailer is Jumia but they’re not alone in the e-commerce space. Normally online prices are discounted and it is the same norm around here with most online retailers. Whereas walking into a brick and mortar store will see the iPhone command an excess of 4,000,000 UGX, just that amount is currently the average online price and the only fees one has to add are delivery ones.
Discounted Sales Days
Buyers like discounts and retailers know this. What better way to fill this void than having special days like Jumia Mobile Week, Black Fridays and anything in between. Once these occur, it turns out they are one of the best days to buy pricier gadgets the iPhone X given the discounts they enjoy.
It is safe to buy on such days but the only caveat is that you have to be a little patient for such days to come buy.
Buying it from a friend
You want an iPhone X? Chances are you might have heard about it from friends around given the iPhone hype machines barely leaves no one untouched. And in case one of your friends has one but wishes to upgrade to a newer model or better, why not offer yourself as a buyer?
Buying a used/refurbished one
There are no used smartphones that commands a high price like an iPhone does. Even still, a used iPhone X is far less expensive than a newer one and in case you’re interested in getting one on the cheap, this could also be one route to consider.
The only caution we offer is to buy it from an authorized reseller or Apple itself.
