We all have people who follow us on the different popular social media platforms. With the advent of stories that basically show someone’s day to day’s lives online thanks to Snapchat. Instagram stories seems to have surpassed the competition thanks for the huge subscribers.
Privacy is key on social media, and we have those people we honestly don’t want to see what we are up to on a daily basis. Keep in mind that hiding your story from someone is different from blocking them, and doesn’t prevent them from seeing your profile and posts.
So, if you don’t want someone to see your Instagram stories, you can hide it from them and prevent them from seeing anything you post to your story in the future. Lets show you how to hide your Instagram stories from someone on both iOS and Android:
- Go to your profile and tap the menu (the 3 horizontal lines).
- Tap Settings (The gear icon)
- Tap Privacy > Story.
- Tap the number of people next to Hide Story From.
- Select the people you’d like to hide your story from, then tap Done (iOS) or a tick (Android). To unhide your story from someone, tap to unselect them.
You can also choose people to hide your story from as you’re looking at who’s seen your story. Tap the 3 dotted horizontal lines (iOS) or 3 dotted vertical lines (Android) to the right of their name and select Hide Story From [Username].
