GPT-4: 10 things you can do with the new ChatGPT

You might have heard of GPT-4, the latest version of ChatGPT – the large language model (LLM) neural network developed by OpenAI. The new version is the successor to GPT-3, which was initially released in 2020 and further fine-tuned with the release of the GPT-3.5 series in 2022.

GPT-4 was launched on March 14, 2023, and has several improvements over its predecessor, including the ability to process up to 25,000 words, handle images as well as text, and perform tasks that require advanced reasoning, complex instruction understanding, and more creativity. Users need to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus to access GPT-4, which has a cap of 100 messages every four hours.

In this article we look at some of the things that you can do with GPT-4, the new ChatGPT version.

    A multimodal system

GPT-4 is now multimodal as it works with text, audio, and images. To be precise, it can turn hand-drawn sketches into fully functional HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript websites!

GPT-4 can handle 25,000 words of text

Those that have used it indicarte that you can ask it to instantly learn something and apply it to your work!

For example: To learn copywriting from various books; to learn coding from a document and build something cool with it; or even learn from research and apply the learnings to some work.

    GPT-4 can code video games

Yap! You can fully code video games, like this game of Pong, all in under 60 seconds!

    How about one-click lawsuits?

Apparently, DoNotPay — the world’s first robot lawyer —is working on using GPT-4 to generate “one click lawsuits” to sue robocallers for $1,500. Imagine receiving a call, clicking a button, call is transcribed and 1,000 word lawsuit is generated.

Coinbase director, Conor Grogan, pointed out the ability for the new model to highlight security vulnerabilities that could be exploited in a contract.

    Drug discovery

Yes, GPT-4 does drug discovery. You can give it a currently available drug and it can find compounds with similar properties, modify them to make sure they’re not patented, purchase them from a supplier, and also send an email with a purchase order.

    Matchmaking

Keeper is using GPT-4 for matchmaking. The model takes profile data and preferences, determines if the match is worth pursuing, and automates the followup. With computer vision for the physical, you can filter on anything and find your ideal partner.

    Create a Chrome extension

YouTube/OnChainGaming host, Jake Browatzke, created a Google Chrome extension in a few hours. GPT-4 walked him step by step through the entire creation process, writing the code and fixing all errors that came up.

    Retrieve data

As in the example below, you can ask GPT-4 to retrieve merchants’ data such as credit card transactions, and output it all in a JSON format! The caveat here is that some data will not be up to date!

    Digital virtual assistance

Be My Eyes announced Virtual Volunteer, a digital visual assistant powered by the GPT-4 language model. Virtual Volunteer will answer any question about an image and provide instantaneous visual assistance in real-time within the app.
