    The Pixel Slate: A look at Google’s Chrome OS Tablet Specifications

    Google announced a number of products at its Made by Google 2018 event. Among these are the Pixel 3 phones, Home Hub, and the Pixel Slate – which we are to focus on today.

    The Pixel Slate is a 12.3-inch tablet, and the first from the company to run Chrome OS. Available in 5 models, the variants are packed with processors ranging from Celerons, 8th gen m3, 8th gen i5, and i7 chips.

    RAM is 4, 8, and 16 GB depending on what you opt to buy, and the storage starts from 32GB up to 256GB for the highest priced. With the Pixel 3 centered around the camera, the Slate as well comes with an 8-megapixel sensor at the front and back.

    The front camera features a wide-angle lens that lets you fit everyone into the picture for video chats or group selfies. It is also perfect for taking better images in low-light conditions especially indoors.

    Audio-wise, the device comes with two dual-coil speakers, fixed inside the bezel and these powered by Waves MaxxAudio. The Slate also has dual microphones with echo cancellation if you are the kind that loves using Google Assistant.

    The Pixel Slate comes with a 48WHr battery that will be capable of up to 10 hours of usage on a single charge. It also boasts a Pixel Imprint fingerprint scanner with an unlock sensor to secure your device.

    Availability

    The Pixel Slate will be available later this year, according to Google, shipping first to the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

    Google is pricing the keyboard at an additional $199 and the Pixelbook Pen will be selling at $99. Whoever purchases the new Pixel Slate will get three months of YouTube TV included.
