Google Maps 2.0 arrives on iPad

For the iPad and frequent maps users, a huge update to Google Maps for iOS has just began rolling out, with a custom iPad interface. The revamp improves navigation with live traffic updates for those countries that have support for such features and incident reports, along with indoor maps for finding your way around shopping malls and the like.

The app is essentially identical to last week’s Android release, part of Google’s attempts to unify its apps across platforms. Google Maps 2.0 for iOS has just begun rolling out, so if it isn’t available yet where you live, it should be before long. As usual the rollout of Google Maps 2.0 will start from the US App Store to other countries with time.
