We all fail at something even the tech giants, it comes as a little surprise that having failed to thrive among the already popular social media sites Google admitted that “due to low usage and challenges involved in maintaining a successful product that meets consumers’ expectations.” announcing that they would shutdown service in December last year.
Known for their aggressive nature in design and innovation, Google decided it was time to throw in towel on one of the least popular social media service just as they did to Allo messaging service
Here is what you should know
4th February Google wont be allowing Google+ account creations, pages, or communities.
March, for Google+ community moderators and owners will be able to download their information including posts, photos, and any other information.
2nd April, Google will begin the deletion process of all accounts on the service and any other pages that you created, this will include all your photos and videos uploaded during this time.
However photos and videos backed up in Google photos will not be deleted
On this same day Google will delete all comments especially for website owners using Google+ comments in their websites or blogs.
March 7th, For website and app(s) owners using the Google+ sign in button will stop being functional,though some may be replaced with Google’s Sign in buttons.
