Looking back at the past half year, Alvin Katto – the Fuzu Country Manager for Uganda who joined the company in August this year from Jumia – stated that the 6 months have seen the brand grow “tremendously both in our users numbers and in the number of jobs posted on the platform.”

In September this year, Fuzu celebrated reaching 500,000 active users across Uganda and Kenya with a campaign dubbed the Fuzu Party Week where all registered users were given prizes for being a part of the company’s community.

Alvin says that Fuzu’s main goal and mission is to unlock people’s raw potential in Uganda by being a personal career companion.

“It’s amazing to see how proactive people are in engaging with the platform to improve their prospects. We have had 10,000 people take personality tests to understand which career best suits their personality, 3000 online courses have been taken and 2500 people have set career goals thus far,” he says.

He adds that these stats are the result of personalised recommendations that the Fuzu platform provides on a daily basis and the platform seeeks to continuously support more people that way within Uganda.

In Uganda, Fuzu has actively worked with top brands across various industries such as Microsoft, New Vision, Safeboda, Jumia, Sanlam, Mondo Ride and Mercy Corps, among others and has many more coming in over the next few months.

Additionally, the brand has also partnered with the ICTAU and Federation of Uganda Employers to offer free trials to all their members to make use of the platform.

Alvin advises people to check the Fuzu platform regularly over this Festive period.

“We shall be offering discounts to all companies looking to advertise their roles over the festive season so we advise everyone using the platform to make sure their profiles are completed up to 70% so that you don’t miss out on these new roles!
