Foursquare gets African competition: Welcome Twendele App

In the midst of app development in Africa, is one start up company called kola studios. The Ugandan based app developers have ushered in a Foursquare like app called Twendele (A Swahili dialect to mean “we go” ). Twendele helps you connect with your real life friends, but helping you share with them your location or where you going. It connects with your Facebook account, and then curates a list of all places that you’d love, and arranges them by location and the number of your friends and total people going. This way, you can make an informed decision on where to spend your morning, afternoon, evening or late night if you want to meetup with any of your Facebook friends!

This is how it works, just log in to an Twendele with your Facebook account, (of course they promise they we’ll NEVER spam your wall), and it’s super easy. We’ll then show you a list of nearby places, and your friend counts. Also total counts, in case you love lots of people, or fewer people. App is available on both Android and iOS and you check them out in the link below. FYI the app is free.
