Facebook officially Unifies Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp

Facebook has today started as a single app. The company recently teased that this will be happening and today they are updating their branding to be clearer about their products that come from Facebook. They have also introduced a new company logo that will further distinguish the company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding.

This means all their main services that include the Facebook app, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Workplace, Portal and Calibra will be affected. These apps and technologies now have a shared infrastructure and the teams behind them frequently work together.

In a blog post, Facebook says the new branding was designed for clarity, and uses custom typography and capitalization to create visual distinction between the company and app.

They will start being clearer about the products and services that are part of the company, adding a company endorsement to products like Oculus, Workplace and Portal. And in June we began including “from Facebook” within all our apps. Over the coming weeks, we will start using the new brand within our products and marketing materials, including a new company website.
