How to edit your sent WhatsApp messages

To edit a sent WhatsApp message, all you need to do is long-press on the message and select “Edit” from the menu. Once you’re satisfied, save the edits, and the updated message will be displayed for all participants in the chat.

However, it’s important to note that there is a time constraint when it comes to editing messages on WhatsApp. You have a window of fifteen minutes from the moment you send a message to make any desired changes.

Once this time frame expires, the message becomes permanent and can no longer be edited. Furthermore, it’s essential to remember that you can only edit your own messages and not those of others.

One of the notable aspects of this feature is that edited messages will display an “edited” tag, indicating that changes have been made. This ensures transparency for all users involved in the conversation, without revealing the entire edit history. Additionally, like all personal messages, media, and calls on WhatsApp, the messages and edits are protected by end-to-end encryption, ensuring privacy and security.

The rollout of this highly anticipated feature has already begun, and WhatsApp users around the world can expect to see it in their app in the coming weeks. Regardless of whether you’re using WhatsApp on iOS or Android, you’ll soon have access to the message editing functionality.
