    Don’t look forward to a bezel-free Pixel 4

It all started when Google leaked its own upcoming flagship smartphone– the Pixel 4. Today, a new set of leaked images of Google’s forthcoming smartphone have surfaced on the web, showing off something that we’ve been expecting: it’ll have a large bezel on the top of the phone. Pixel phones have had a tradition of coming with design disappointments and this is no different from the rest.

The leaked images come come courtesy Ice universe (via 9to5Google) on Twitter, and show off the phone’s front panel. The images seem to confirm what we’ve suspected thus far, based on renders and dimensions of the phones. Last year’s Pixel 3 came with a huge unflattering notch and the Pixel 4 will come with larger forehead and chin bezels that are bigger than competing phones like the S10 Plus or the OnePlus 7 Pro.

On the bright side, those bezels will cover up the variety of sensors of the Pixel 4 and dual front-facing cameras that might otherwise have been designed with a notch or popup camera.

Deep diving more on what lies behind those array of holes at the top is that the phone will come with some motion-sensing technology called Project Soli, which uses radar to detect fine motion above it. The size of those bezels, it seems as though Google needs plenty of space on the Pixel 4 for the required sensors including adding a 3D facial recognition technology for face unlock like the on the iPhone X and the Mate 20 Pro.

In addition to the images of the front screen, @OnLeaks and iGeeksBlog came up with a series of renders of the forthcoming phone, which also show off the larger bezels.

With this latest leak, maybe Google will unveil another official image just like it did previously.
