The Digital Impact Awards Africa 2024 has once again showcased the remarkable strides in digital innovation and financial inclusion across Uganda, and the continent at large. Held on November 15, 2024, the event celebrated a diverse array of winners who are not only pushing the boundaries of technology but also making significant contributions to their communities.
The CEO of the Year award went to Gerald Begumisa of Yo Uganda LTD for his outstanding leadership, while Richard Yego from MoMo at MTN Uganda took home the Diamond award in the same category.
In the Banking Innovation Excellence category, the GOLD award was claimed by the WENDI Digital Wallet from PostBank Uganda Ltd, with FlexiPay by Stanbic Bank Uganda taking home the DIAMOND. This reflects a growing trend towards integrating technology in banking services, enhancing customer experiences and accessibility.
For startups making waves in the FinTech sector, PAYTOTA was awarded GOLD, while Kawu secured the DIAMOND title in the FinTech Start-up of the Year category. This recognition underscores the potential of innovative ideas to reshape financial landscapes.
