A huge social media following is largely considered a measure of popularity and company brand reach in today’s digital world. The more likes and engaged followers your Facebook page has, the more respected and highly ranked it will be on the social media platform. We are no strangers when it comes to data mining on Facebook, we’ve gathered a lot of data that has helped us rank the most popular musicians and personalities on the world’s biggest social media platform over the years. Last week, Facebook made public a huge trove of data about its users’ interests as part of a new tool called Audience Optimization. For the first time it revealed not only the hundreds of thousands of categories into which Facebook divides its users, but also the number of people who belong to each one.
We have extracted the most important information about Uganda for purposes for this post –but for the curious out there– you can download the exhaustive 18.2 MB list of Facebook interests if you want to take a closer look. With other data mining tools, we were able to come up with a definitive list of the most popular Facebook pages. We’ve categorized then from Top Brands, Celebrities, Communities, Media, Society (also full of presidential candidates) and lastly the overall popular Facebook pages in 2016. It should be noted that the number of likes listed could be off by more than 100-500 likes and not all pages have a Facebook ranking.
Each category is arranged to display the top three with the largest audience, the top five rising pages and lastly the top 20 brands. These are the 20 most popular Facebook Pages in Uganda.
