The service catalog includes developing emergency response plans, training healthcare providers, and ensuring the availability of essential medical supplies and vaccines. Rapid deployment of medical teams, establishment of temporary medical facilities, and addressing mental health needs are integral components of effective disaster medicine.

Shamim Nabuuma, the CEO and co-founder of Chil Femtech, states that the company is actively involved in training nurses at partner health facilities in disaster medicine, further strengthening the healthcare system’s resilience against climate-related emergencies.

She adds that the effects of climate change on public health are profound and multifaceted. From exacerbating the severity of natural disasters to increasing the spread of infectious diseases and threatening food and water security, the repercussions are far-reaching. Mental health is also adversely affected, with extreme weather events and displacement causing significant stress and anxiety among affected populations.

As climate change continues to pose significant threats to public health, the integration of disaster medicine into healthcare systems is paramount. Chil Femtech Center’s initiative to incorporate disaster medication into its service delivery signifies its dedication to safeguarding the health and well-being of communities in the face of climate-related emergencies.
