Canalbox Uganda, a new entrant in the broadband internet service market in Uganda, has today officially launched its services. The company is offering two fiber optic internet plans: Start (50 Mbps) and Premium (200 Mbps). The Start plan is suitable for basic internet usage, while the Premium plan is ideal for heavy internet users, gamers, and those who frequently download large files.
One of the most attractive features of Canalbox Uganda’s internet plans is their affordability. They seem to have reduced their price from what they had initially. The Start plan is now priced at 110,000 UGX per month from UGX 130,000, while the Premium plan is priced at 200,000 UGX per month reduced from UGX 380,000. These prices are significantly lower than the current market rates for fiber optic internet in Uganda.
Canalbox Uganda’s fiber optic internet plans offer high speeds and reliability. Fiber optic internet uses light pulses to transmit data, resulting in faster speeds and better reliability compared to traditional options. This makes Canalbox Uganda’s internet plans ideal for businesses, homes, and schools that need reliable internet access for streaming, video conferencing, and other demanding applications.
However, it is important to note that Canalbox Uganda imposes data caps on all their plans. The Start plan has a data cap of 50GB per month, while the Premium plan has a data cap of 100GB per month. Users who exceed their data cap will be charged an overage fee.
Speaking at the launch, the chief guest Deputy Speaker …. said ” The entry of such a giant player in Uganda is a vote of confidence in our government and its business-friendly policies, country and people.” I commend GVA for their efforts and the footprint they have made so far. I look forward to seeing the impact they make as they continue to grow the prevalence of broadband internet in Uganda, as they have done in other countries across Africa, he added.
