Now that UCC has distributed the card readers to all telecoms, you can now replace your Smile SIM cards at selected Smile retail outlets that are equipped with National ID Biometric card readers. Here are the Smile shops you can visit:
- Kampala – Smile Head office in Bukoto (Corporation Rise, next to Radio Simba)
- Kampala – Garden City (2nd floor)
- Mbarara – Ntare Road opposite Balya Plaza behind Stanbic Bank
- Gulu – Sudan Road next to NSSF offices
- Jinja – Plot 22, Soroti-Gweri Road, next to Abacus Pharmacy
As usual, you must ensure that you go with your Original National ID (Ugandan citizens) or Passport (foreigners) as well as the police letter declaring that your SIM card is lost/stolen.
It should also be noted that SIM card replacement can ONLY be done by the owner of the SIM card in person.
