Uber Uganda ride-hailing has today unveiled its new boss for its Ugandan affiliate. This comes after Aaron Tindiseega resigned as the country manager in June 2020 and will be replaced by Brian Njao. The company’s business units were hit by the COVID 19 pandemic which has to led to the current reorganization of the ride-sharing firm.

Aaron Tindiseega will be replaced by Brian Njao who currently oversees Uber operations across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Mr. Tindiseega left Uber to join Elephant Healthcare, a health technology company based in London, U.K.
According to sources, the company will reduce on its headcount in the number of employees in Uganda as it reduces its headcount in Sub-Saharan Africa as it has been done elsewhere. All laid-off workers will be given severance packages, which include a minimum of 10 weeks’ pay or more depending on contract terms. This also includes health benefits, additional equity vesting, outplacement/recruiting support, and additional support for Uber-sponsored visa holders.
Since May 2020 Brian Njao has been the head of Uber East Africa, and has been country led in Kenya since 2018. He has been driving the company to make Uber both big and beloved by the people that matter in the cities they serve – both now and in the future. he is in charge of shaping regulation, advocating for the company’s vision for urban mobility, striking strategic partnerships and celebrating cities in ways only Uber can.
As a country led, in Uganda Brian Njao will nurture various channels for Uber that will grow their business. This includes building a sustainable growth trajectory by working cross-functionally with regional teams to deliver the best possible experience for Uber riders and driver-partners across our cities.
