    Bodawerk showcases its agri-innovations at the National Agricultural Show in Jinja

    At the recently concluded National Agricultural show in Jinja, Bodawerk plus many other companies braced the annual event to showcase their innovations geared towards advancing farming practices in Uganda. The event themed: Agricultural technologies and Innovations for farmer-led Agro Industrialization gathered a wide range of local companies around the country.

    The official opening of the show was presided over by Rt Hon Ruhakana Rugunda Prime Minister who represented HE President and awarded best model farmers in the country. He encouraged farmers to utilize all the resources available to fight hunger and grow financially.

    This year the event started from the 12th -21st July 2019 in Jinja town. The show presents a platform for displaying and identifying innovations made by local and foreign companies through improved technologies for better production, marketing and poverty eradication. This year the event focused on how to engage technologies in agricultural production to embrace value addition and industrialization.

    It also gives an opportunity for local farming individuals and companies to learn current technologies of production in the agricultural value chain, identify the potential market for products and spearhead active participation by the private and public sectors. Its Areas Of Interest include; Best Agro Technology & Innovations Standards, Most popular Education institutions (Schools, Polytechnics, Special Schools, Colleges and Universities,  Most popular financial services i.e Banks, Saccos, Insurance, MFIs, NSSF, etc, Research Institutions (NARO, Universities, ILRI, Seed companies, Feeds companies, Agrochemical companies, Government ministries/departments/programmes. 

    Among its many innovations, Bodawerk a local engineering and innovations company showcased its E-trak (Electric-Traktor) with advanced battery power to support ploughing, secondary tillage, mobile threshing, mobile milling, pumping water, grain collection, inputs distribution etc. This Electric-Traktor is among the many electric-transport solutions that Bodawerk has innovated and been recognized for recently; The start-up has also been recognized for its electric boda boda (electric-motorcycle) and E-Wheely (electric wheelchair) that it also showcased at the AgriShow. With this innovation, farmers around the country will cash in more since the technology can support modern farming.
