Bobi Wine’s ‘Afande’ music video breaks Ugandan YouTube record

Bobi Wine has been making headlines in the country for a couple of days now, from Police canceling his Easter show at One love beach to being under house arrest. The Kyarenga singer doesn’t seem to be in any sort of hurry to be out of the spotlight for now.

He used his time well under temporary house arrest, and recorded a new multilingual song called Afande– following scuffles with police that barred him from performing at a concert on Easter Monday at his One Love Beach in Busabala. Moments after the video was uploaded on YouTube, last evening it reportedly received warm welcomes in terms of the number of views and comments.

The new Music video replaces Sheebah’s “Silwana song” as the number one trending music video in Uganda on YouTube which makes the video to be the first to reach the number spot after less than 19 hours of its release. The song currently has 140,000 views with 2,000 comments on YouTube in just 24 hours since its upload.

Sheebah’s Silwana music video moved down to number four in the list with 520k views on the new 3 weeks it has spent on the platform.
