BNI Uganda is making significant strides in leveraging technology to enhance its networking capabilities and expand its reach, now boasting 10 active chapters.
As part of the global Business Network International (BNI) organization, which has over 325,000 members worldwide, BNI Uganda embodies the principle of “Givers Gain” fostering a culture of collaboration among business professionals.
The recent launch of the BNI Diamond chapter, which welcomed dozens of new members, exemplifies the organization’s commitment to growth and community engagement. Members meet weekly to build relationships and exchange qualified business referrals, with many reporting an average business growth of 20% within their first year of membership.
Each chapter is designed to ensure exclusivity in professional representation, allowing only one member per specialty, which enhances referral opportunities.
Embracing technology
BNI Uganda’s approach to leveraging technology is multifaceted, incorporating various digital tools and platforms to facilitate networking and communication among its members.
The organization maintains a dedicated website that serves as a central hub for information on membership, events, and resources. This online presence allows potential members to explore the benefits of joining BNI, understand the structure of meetings, and read success stories from current members.
To accommodate members unable to attend in-person meetings, BNI Uganda has adopted virtual meeting technologies. This flexibility broadens participation, allowing entrepreneurs from diverse locations to engage in valuable networking opportunities.
BNI Uganda also prioritizes member development through access to training programs and workshops, often delivered via online platforms. These resources cover essential business topics, including marketing strategies and financial management, equipping members with the skills necessary for business growth.
Active engagement on social media platforms fosters a sense of community among BNI Uganda members. The organization uses these channels to promote events, celebrate member achievements, and share valuable content, further driving participation and membership growth.
Voices from leadership
Jo Kisaka, President of the BNI Diamond chapter – the newest launch, emphasizes the familial atmosphere within the chapter, stating, “When you come into the Diamond chapter, you see people smiling, hugging, laughing… We know each other so well, and we relate to the relationships in the room.” This sentiment reflects the supportive environment that BNI fosters, where members can thrive together.
Diana Ninsiima, Founder of BNI Uganda, provides insight into the broader vision of the organization: “BNI gives business owners a chance to grow their businesses and tap into global networks with BNI members who are going to use their wealth. We believe that BNI business owners can collaborate and not go away. Even when we are in the street, you can find ways to know together and the structure and sustainable in BNI gives us that opportunity.”
Ninsiima’s words highlight how BNI’s technological infrastructure supports not just local but global networking, enabling Ugandan businesses to access international markets and partnerships.
