    Blackberry CEO talks new 2014 phones and Future company Strategy

    Yesterday, the new Blackberry CEO John Chen  was quoted saying at an event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that his company will be introducing two new phones, this included the first one from the company’s Foxconn partnership. He said the first phone, a 3G model code-named Jakarta, will cost less than $200 a good price point for emerging markets and go on sale in Asia in April.  There is also a higher end model.

    From the interview he has with recode, CEO John Chen outlined his strategy for the Canadian Phone maker. His  strategy that includes focusing more on business customers, plus also outsourcing much of the company’s handset manufacturing to Foxconn and getting BBM chat software onto a wide range of devices., which they have done with BBM.

    The CEO also joked that perhaps BlackBerry should change its name to BBM in direct response to the $19 billion WhatsApp purchase by Facebook.
