Uganda’s YouTube comedy sensation Anne Kansiime, early this week managed to beat two of Nigeria’s best comedians Basket Mouth and Klint Da Drunk to bring home the Nollywood & African People’s Choice Award (NAFCA) in the category of Favourite Comedian. All thanks to her famous rib cracking viral YouTube videos on her channel Kansiime Anne.
She is ranked among the 10 best comedians in Africa by the BBC. The 28 year old Anne recently received an accolade from YouTube for her over 100, 000 subscribers milestone. The NAFCA award will be presented to Kansiime on September 12th at the iconic The Orpheum Theatre Broadway, Los Angeles, and U.S.A where the 5th edition of the awards will be held. The NAFCA awards commonly referred to as The African Oscars are US awards designed to globally promote African Cinema, stage performance and culture.
