Anne Kansiime one of Uganda’s funniest comedians has received a limited edition, commemorative Silver Play Button from YouTube after her channel surpassed the 100,000 subscriber mark. As we have seen in our previous best 25 YouTube channels in Uganda, this loquacious comedian ranks number one in terms of estimated monetary income from Google.
YouTube recognizes those channels that have honestly earned the achievement. To prevent any channel from gaming the system with falsely inflated subscribers count, they use a variety of signals to determine which channels qualify for rewards, including but not limited to subscribers, views and watch time.
YouTube rewards those qualifying channels with 100,000 subscribers with a limited edition, commemorative Silver Play Button and channels with over 1 million subscribers, are recognized with a limited edition, commemorative Gold Play Button.
