- Inspection Fees: A fixed fee of UGX 41,300 (Ugandan Shillings) covers the inspection costs associated with establishing the connection.
- Yaka Units: A one-time payment for the yaka units (prepaid meters) that come with the connection. The cost of these units varies depending on the chosen meter capacity, typically ranging around UGX 15,000.
- Connection Types: The program caters to two main connection scenarios:
- No-Pole Connection: This option is ideal for properties located within 35 meters of an existing electricity pole. As no new pole installation is required, the connection process is generally faster and more cost-effective.
- One-Pole Connection: For properties situated further than 35 meters from an existing pole, a new pole might be required. While this option incurs additional costs associated with pole installation, Yaka Mangu still significantly reduces the overall connection expense compared to traditional methods.

- National ID or Passport: A valid form of identification is required to verify your identity.
- NIN (Non-Citizen) or Refugee ID (For Non-Citizens): For applicants who aren’t Ugandan citizens, the relevant identification document needs to be provided.
- Sketch Map: A basic sketch of your property, indicating its location and proximity to existing power lines or poles, is required.
- Way Leaves (if applicable): In instances where the connection requires the power line to pass through a neighbor’s property, written permission (way leave) from the neighbor is necessary.
