Alcatel teases us with their first smartwatch

If you thought 2014 was a year for smartwatches brace yourself for more of the same in 2015. Now that Apple is close to releasing it’s Apple Watch, a lot of mobile device makers are now jumping into the smartwatch realm. Behold the Alcatel OneTouch Watch (Wave 2) from the press image above. This is TCL’s (the company behind the Alcatel brand) first smartwatch. And we like what we see so far. The company has decided to semi-announce the wearable a few days before CES.

We don’t have many details about about the watch only that it bares a striking resemblance to the much loved Moto 360 and the  LG G Watch R since it’s round.  Presumably every spec will be unveiled next week, but before then we can see that it will have at least four strap options.

At this point it also be safe to assume that the smartwatch will be running Android wear since Alcatel smartphones run Android, though that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. The Chinese company did promise a “smart price” for the Wave 2 Watch, which is in line with our expectations, given that its other mobile wares are usually quite affordable.
