Last week Airtel Uganda held a a free community health fair in Arua district the West Nile region of Northern Uganda in a bid to continue its Happiness Campaign through touching the lives of different Ugandans countrywide.
Stationed at Ezuko Primary School, airtel Uganda invited residents of Vurra Sub County and surrounding areas to be offered free medical services an event that was attended by over 1,000 people. The medical services offered included; Hepatitis B screening and shots, Dental, eye checkups and general medicine, Screening for HIV, diabetes, ulcers, blood pressure, syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases such as Hepatitis B, Screening and tests for malaria and cervical cancer, Safe male circumcision, Nutritional consultations, Consultations on disease prevention and management, Onsite treatment for common illnesses.
Speaking during the community health fair, Airtel Uganda Public relations Manager, Mr. Sandor Walusimbi said,
”As we continue the happiness with Airtel in 2015, we are always proud to be associated with the communities we serve. It is gratifying to see over 1000 people come in to get access to free medical checkup treatment, counseling and referrals. Working closely with Hinds feet, Airtel will continue to go and reach out to other communities in Uganda”
“It is by taking part in initiatives which directly impact our consumers’ lives that Airtel will achieve the vision of becoming the most loved brand in the daily lives of Ugandans,” he added.
The first community heath fair was held in Kabale district Western Uganda three months ago and Airtel Uganda has promised to continue holding such health fairs throughout the country.
