Airtel Uganda roaming is a service that allows subscribers who frequently travel to stay connected to their home network without removing their SIM cards. However, this service has been tainted with the “bad image” of being expensive. Well, yes it is but it all depends on the places you travel.
With the advent of the East African community block’s One Network Area that included six East Africa member states viz; Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, TZ and South Sudan who signed multilateral agreements. These agreements made mobile communication easier in the region to allow people make calls at the same rate as a local call. All telecom companies within the region had to scarp roaming fees for their subscribers traveling within these countries including Airtel Uganda roaming.
But, this doesn’t apply out of East Africa as for International roaming you have to pay the hefty price on each minute or for each mb you use to surf the internet. This service is automatically activated upon crossing into any one of the Airtel network partner global territories, as long as you have been pre-approved for roaming services activation before traveling. When you switch on your phone, an approved network will be automatically selected.
Airtel Uganda roaming services ensure customers connected to 550 operators in over 200 destinations doesn’t give details on particular countries rather continents and regions.
