    Airtel Uganda bids farewell to outgoing top executives.

    Last week, Airtel Uganda issued a statement informing the general public about the planned departure of three of its directors – Mr. Diego Pacheco, the Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Prasoon Lal, the Marketing Director, and Mr. Paul Langlois, the Airtel Money Director. Mr. Diego Pacheco successfully steered the company’s commercial strategy for almost two years, taking Airtel Uganda to a strong number two position in the market with a subscriber base of over 8 million.

    Mr. Prasoon Lal is credited for spearheading the Airtel marketing department during the Airtel-Warid merger, successfully re-positioning the newly merged company as well as the implementation of a host of popular campaigns. Both Prasoon and Diego have agreed to taken on career enhancing opportunities outside Uganda hence their decision to leave Airtel Uganda. Prasoon will be leaving the business at the end of July and Diego will be leaving at the end of August.

    Mr. Paul Langlois the Airtel Money Director is credited for overseeing the rapid expansion of the Airtel Money business. He plans to move to France to be closer to his wife and family after a long stint with various operations in Africa. Paul will also leave Uganda at the end of August. Airtel Uganda is very grateful to these directors for the dedication and hard work that they have put in to growing the company and the Airtel brand and would like to wish them the very best in their future endeavors.
