    Airtel Uganda to supply 5G internet to NAM and G77 summits

    Airtel Uganda has been awarded the role of being the Internet Partner for the upcoming 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77 Summits.

    The announcement, made during a press briefing in Kampala, signals Airtel Uganda’s dedication to fostering global collaboration and progress through transformative digital connectivity.

    The 19th NAM Summit, scheduled from the 15th to the 20th of January 2024 at the Speke Resort Convention Centre Munyonyo, will convene representatives from 120 nations.

    This summit serves as a vital platform for fostering solidarity, cooperation, and mutual respect among countries striving for sustainable development, peace, and fairness in our interconnected world. 

    Airtel Uganda is set to provide both 5G and fiber cable internet connectivity throughout the event.

    Manoj Murali, the Managing Director of Airtel Uganda, emphasized the transformative power of digital connectivity in the context of global collaboration.  Airtel Uganda has been instrumental in bringing numerous firsts to Uganda and establishing partnerships that accelerate digital inclusion in Africa.

    Murali articulated the company’s commitment to enabling impactful change, stating, “Each interaction, document shared, and video conference at this summit could be the catalyst for innovative solutions, life-changing policies, or transformative partnerships across the world.” 

    Airtel Uganda aims to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among the representatives from 120 nations, fostering an environment conducive to positive change.

    During the press briefing, Manoj Murali highlighted Airtel Uganda’s position as Uganda’s first 5G network, with comprehensive coverage at the summit venue. 

    The improved network performance along critical locations, such as the Entebbe Express Way, hotels hosting delegates, and Mulago National Referral Hospital, further demonstrates Airtel’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for the summit participants.

    Murali affirmed Airtel Africa’s dedication to being more than a telecommunications provider, stating, “We are a partner in progress, a catalyst for change, and a believer in the boundless potential of our nations working in harmony.” 

    Serving in 17 countries, each of which is represented at the summit, Airtel Africa strives to be a driving force behind transformative partnerships and initiatives that transcend national borders.
