    Africell Uganda collaborates with URA to reward excelling tax payers

    Uganda Revenue Authority last weekend as has been the norm for the last 8 years awarded taxpayers in various categories during its taxpayers Appreciation Day held on Sunday 25th October. The tax payers appreciation awards were co-sponsored by leading telecom Africell Uganda who pioneered the cheapest voice and data bundles in the telecom industry.

    The tax payers appreciation award day seeks to recognize exemplary clients and stakeholders in tax administration and revenue collection. URA’s commissioner general Doris Akol took the audience through URA’s journey to becoming a corporate institution, highlighting key achievements. She thanked all stakeholders for contributing towards URA’s excellence.

    Various tax payers were awarded and recognized for being exemplary tax payers by the guest of honour, Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda. There were various performances from over 20 artistes who entertained the crowds. The Africell Uganda teams handed over free merchandise to the crowds that turned up while others won phones, t shirts, money in the Africell cash chambers and data.
