Africa’s leading mobile maker, TECNO hints global unveiling for its September flagship

One of Africa’s leading mobile makers, TECNO has been warming up to the launch of its September flagship, the Phantom 6. However, moving away from a known tradition of an African launch for its high-end Phantom series, TECNO seems to be looking overseas to a grand unveiling of what analysts have dubbed a “turning point” flagship.

So, should we expect a London or Dubai launch for TECNO Phantom 6?

Information received from a reliable contact working with a London-based event company is valid then, TECNO could have its eyes set on London for the Phantom 6 international launch. But that’s not the only feelers we’re getting; tip off from a reliable source suggested that top Tecno officials have been making frequent trips to Dubai and holding talks with top hospitality personnel including the management of BurjKhalifa for an event space.

Phantom6 launch a market expansion strategy? I really think so

London or Dubai, one thing is certain TECNO will launch outside the African shores – that’s affirmative I can tell you. This strategic move is something we saw coming, TECNO has been aiming its marketing paraphernalia at the Middle-east and Western markets in an effort to grow the brand’s consumer base in these regions. From experience, smartphone brands that try to reach consumers in the Middle-east and Western markets tend to put their flagship products up and I think TECNO is putting up the Phantom 6.

A closer look at the TECNO Phantom 6 reveals a smartphone with really good software and hardware upgrades – MediaTek Helio X20 Deca-core processor, Trifold security system (including fingerprint, eye scan technologies), full metal body and scale-tipping SONYTM rear camera are some of the upgrades we can affirmatively say either TECNO Phantom 6 or its variant Phantom 6+ will spot.

Finally, my pick: I think the launch will be in Dubai

My guess is really based on gut feeling however, I think the multinational brand TECNO will pick Dubai over London since it has made market gains into the Middle-eastern region already. TECNO’s 2015 camera flagship, the CAMON C8 was a huge success in markets like Egypt, Algeria and the UAE and consumers in these markets are quite familiar with the TECNO brand name.
