Jumia Uganda has kicked off the new year with an expansion plan to make their delivery more efficient. The e-commerce company announced a partnership with renown shoe retailer Bata and international oil company Total to grow the number of pick up stations where consumers can pick their Jumia orders from. Jumia Uganda CEO Ron Kawamara said,
” We have seen demand for our services in upcountry locations like Masaka, Fort Portal, Mbarara Gulu, and Lira. Therefore, our expanded pick up station network with Total and Bata will enhance customer confidence and the adoption of e-commerce in 2020 countrywide”
At the beginning of the year, Jumia Uganda announced a new initiative is a part of the company’s strategy to expand and get to more customers in and out of the main city center.
Upcountry customers who shop on Jumia, will have an option to pick their orders from the nearest Bata store during the checkout process, and the products will be dispatched to the selected office for collection. This will be the same for customers in Kampala who will have an option to pick their orders from the closest Total service station.
