Q: Can you tell us about the impact of new payment technologies on the customer experience?

A: Absolutely. New payment technologies, such as mobile wallets and online payment systems, have made it easier and more convenient for customers to make transactions. Customers can now make purchases and manage their finances from their mobile devices, without the need for cash or card. This has greatly enhanced the customer experience, as it saves them time and makes their transactions more secure.

Q: How has the integration of mobile wallets into the purchasing process changed the experience for consumers?

A: Mobile wallets have changed the purchasing experience for consumers in a number of ways. First, they provide a quick and convenient way to make payments. Customers no longer have to carry cash, as they can make transactions directly from their mobile devices and cards. Additionally, mobile wallets also offer additional features, such as the ability to store multiple cards, track spending, and receive real-time transaction notifications.

With Pesapal Mobile you can pay all your bills in bulk at a go in one transaction. Pay electricity bills, buy prepaid tokens, and pay TV & internet bills. You can buy airtime for yourself or for a different number at the same time – All at ZERO transaction fees. Link your VISA or Mastercard debit or credit card on the Pesapal Mobile app and pay all your shopping bills fast and easy.

Q: In what ways have online payment systems improved the security of transactions for consumers?

A: Online payment systems have greatly improved the security of transactions for consumers by incorporating advanced security measures, such as encryption and two-factor authentication. This ensures that customer information is protected and reduces the risk of fraud. Additionally, online payment systems also provide customers with real-time transaction updates, allowing them to quickly detect and address any suspicious activity.

As part of our internal measures to ensure airproof security within our systems, we recently upgraded our Application Programming Interface (API) to Pesapal 3.0, allowing for the delivery of enhanced security features.  As part of the API upgrade to Pesapal 3.0, Pesapal has adopted the 3-D Secure processing for card payments and introduced Sim Tool Kit (STK) for mobile money payments. These new components of Pesapal 3.0 have improved the UI/UX for not only end-users but also for developers. Additionally, these changes specify the use of multiple options for step-up authentication eliminating instances of fraud and chargebacks.

Q: How do you see new payment technologies evolving in the near future and what benefits can consumers expect?

A: The future of payment technologies is extremely exciting. We will see the continued integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve the security and efficiency of transactions. Additionally, we will see a greater emphasis on biometrics, such as fingerprint and facial recognition, for authentication.

Consumers can expect even more convenient, secure, and personalized payment experiences as these technologies continue to evolve. There will be more partnerships between financial institutions, and we work seamlessly to enable customers transact with ease with a variety of payment choices. For example, Pesapal’s partnerships with banks, mobile network operators, and credit card companies has enabled them to provide businesses with a wide variety of payment options.

Q: How has your company ensured that these new payment technologies are user-friendly and accessible to all customers, especially those who may not be tech-savvy?

A: We understand that not all customers are comfortable with technology, so we have made sure to provide thorough in-app tutorials and customer support to help them get started. Our goal is to make sure that everyone, regardless of their tech proficiency, can take advantage of the benefits that these new payment technologies offer.
