After protracted negotiations with The Walt Disney Company Africa, MultiChoice has announced it has signed a deal with to offer more sports channels and content to DStv customers.
The result of this new partnership means that DStv customers will get two 24-hour ESPN channels starting 29 July 2020. This opens up a whole range of detailed US-based sports channels for the DStv subscribers.
ESPN and ESPN2 will come with the following Sports leagues which include:
- National Basketball Association (NBA)
- National Football League (NFL)
- Major League Baseball (MLB)
In a press release by MultiChoice, the channels will also offer live football from the English Football League (EFL), Scottish Premier Football League (SPFL), Dutch Eredivisie, and Major League Soccer (MLS).
The same deal will also enable African sports coverage to become available to SuperSport viewers, including the West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations, and featured boxing tournaments and events. MultiChoice Group CEO Calvo Mawela said;

Senior Vice President and Country Manager of The Walt Disney Company Africa Christine Service said that ESPN’s content will provide great value to DStv’s sports fans.
