    The company has come out to make its commitment to use its services to keep their customers connected. In order for this to happen, Airtel needs to first keep its employees and partners safe so that they can also work towards keeping their customers safe and connected in this COVID-19 quarantine period.

    Here are 7 steps Airtel Uganda has embarked on and what they mean for you as you try to survive this COVID-19 pandemic.

    1. Airtel Money. In light of the current situation, on 20th March 2020 Airtel Uganda took the following steps to ensure free flow of funds among loved ones and also ensure payment of bills and essentials is done remotely to avoid the need for physical cash.
      • Sending Airtel to Airtel was made free for a period of 30 days
      • Airtel Money wallet to bank and bank to Airtel Money wallet is free for 30 days
      • Airtel Money pay charges to the customers and merchants is free for 30 days
    2. Airtel Products. As work from home becomes a common place for the privileged few elites, the company has priced the following products favorably.
      • 4G pocket Mi-Fi at UGX 123k with 15 GB free data
      • 4G WIFI- Home broardband at UGX 280 k and comes with 51GB free data
      • Airtel Enterprise broadband has also been affordable
    3. Data Bundles. These Weekly and monthly data bundles have been pimped up
      • Weekly- UGX 15k gives you 4GB data
      • Monthly- UGX 50k gives you 20GB data
      • Broadband bundles (valid 30 days): UGX 100k -> 50GB, UGX 200k -> 120GB and for UGX 300k-> 200GB.
    4. Airtel TV. While at home you can certainly entertain yourself with Airtel TV app (assuming you have the data to stream.) The App is available for download of your respective PlayStore or App Store.
    5. My Airtel App. You no longer have to step out to recharge or top-up your phone with data. Although, we recently reported that this service got some interruption crashed and users were not able to load data onto their phones.
    6. Zero rating ‘useful’ websites: Depending on what you think a useful website is, am sure if we carried out a poll most Ugandans, would prefer zero OTT or zero rating social media sites. Just liek MTN, Airtel has focused health and educational based websites. Here is a list of sites you can browse using Airtel data bundles for free.
