The Galaxy Note 10 is here! It is now in the hands of several tech reviewers and soon will be available on the market. After the recent launch of the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, Samsung showcased several features and we’d love to see Apple bring to their next flagship phones.
Apple Pencil for the iPhone

Its perennial at this point this is going to stay on top of the list until Apple gets the pencil out of their labs into our geeky hands. We’ve seen rumors of Apple Pencil support coming to the iPhone for years– and by rumors I mean financial analysts fan fiction for investor notes. But, while its always coming its never arriving. We hope this will come soon, especially now that pencil kit is a thing.
Note 10 Colors

The iPhone XR brought some Apple chromatic flare back to the line up last year, but for the iPhone XS models, you can only get it in White, Grey or the gold colors. Samsung and Huawei are making phone with great colors with metallic gradients. These could be more trendy more than timeless, and may be in a few years that aura will be the equivalent of bell-bottoms. We don’t expect Apple to change much in terms of colors of their flagships but if they do, it would be awesome.
Video Bokeh

Samsung introduced video bokeh on the Note 10, a feature that allows you to blur the background while in video mode. While iPhones can do this in photos, its strange that their powerful processor is not yet able to do this. They can do this with computational depth effects in video mode much as they have been doing with still images.
Apple’s segmentation masking is getting better, they are still no Google when it comes to Algorithms but they still have the best Silicon on any phone, the best virtual lens modelling, and one of if not the best video camera on a phone. So, am computationally optimistic that we shall see Video bokeh sooner rather than later.
Time of Fight (ToF)

The Huawei P30 Pro made the time of flight sensor very popular, Samsung initially put it on the S10 5G and now has it in the Note 10 as well. Apple’s use of this sensor must come with more compelling use cases with what we are seeing so far. Its always good to ship feature sets not just chip-sets , this will make the rear Augmented camera more compelling to other users.
Note 10 Fast Charge

Every Smartphone maker noways has some kind of super fast charge technology. Its a known fact that the faster you charge, the hotter the battery gets and that’s bad for its long term health. But, just because something can charge super fast doesn’t mean it had to all of the time. I have no problem with the faster chargers being optional extras for those who know they really want them.
USB -C

USB-C is the future of data transfer on devices and the sooner Apple realizes this the better. It will be hard for Apple die hards to switch from their 30 pin lightening connector to USB-C but its high time it came to the iPhone, given the iPad and latest Mac Books use it. We are not ready to go full on port-less yet, everything from charging to data transfer but most especially recovery isn’t there yet. So unless Apple is waiting for some mini USB-C announcement from the consortium, it really is time for that one port to rule them all.
