    Who says the season of love is only for those in love. Valentine’s Day is often anticipated by those in love but dreaded by those who aren’t in relationships. The whole atmosphere of roses, chocolates and fifty shades of pink can get so overwhelming that some singles even become depressed about not having a partner.

    Nonetheless, people in general have strayed from the original concept of why Valentines’ Day, posing it out to be a celebration for romantically involved couples rather than a celebration of love in itself. The season should be seen as a universal opportunity to express our love and gratitude to all persons we are close to. Valentine’s Day can therefore be celebrated with friends, siblings, parents, grandparents, teachers or anyone who made a difference to our lives with their affection and support. This can be done with a gift of roses, sweeties or even a beautiful card – ideas on where to buy? Someone maybe selling great stuff on OLX or Kaymu.

    Its anticipated that many singles could have made the most of Valentine’s Day by spending the day in the company of those they love, with other singles, or by spoiling oneself with something luxurious. Here are 5 ways most singles spent their Valentines day

    Partied with friends
    Some had dinner or movies with close friends, while others threw “singles parties” or “Valentine’s Day Parties” at their homes and had a blast. You will know that life is fun in the company of loving friends.
    Expressed Gratitude for those around them
    Rather than yearning for what you do not have, it is always best to give thanks for what you do have. Replace the depression of not having a partner with the joy and appreciation of those around you. Some Singles spent Valentine’s Day giving thanks for parents, friends, colleagues, neighbors or anyone dear.

    Pampered themselves silly
    Nobody knows you better than you know yourself. This is an opportunity for you to buy yourself the ideal Valentine’s Day gifts, which most did. Some ladies where seen on a solo shopping sprees.  Gentlemen could have spoilt themselves with brand new suits or a wristwatch. Indulging books, CDs, and gourmet meals can be a good way of enjoying the day for some. Singles may also indulge themselves by going in for spa or head to toe body treatment.
    Gave back to the community
    You get what you give. Why not give back to the community? Since Valentine’s Day is all about spreading the love. Some singles experienced the bliss of Valentine’s Day in a meaningful way by spending time with the needy and less fortunate. By visiting a hospital, orphanage or old age home, some spent time with the residents there who are always in need of love and affection.

    Focused on future Relationship Plans
    Mark resolutions and plan for the future. By establishing a healthy and positive approach towards life or working towards one’s diet, health and physical appearance. Most singles took steps you rethink and improve their chances for new relationship. Some took this opportunity to think ahead and focus on a relationship plan to prepare for a healthy and lasting relationship.
