Will Tecno Smartphones handle the popularity streak in 2019?

For the past 2 years, Tecno mobile has been a household brand leading the smartphones market in Uganda by a great margin. Just this year they have launched some of the dominant smartphones on the market like the Spark 2, Camon X and recently they joined the notch bandwagon with the latest Camon 11 smartphone.

Tecno mostly competes in the mid-range smartphone segment with competitors including Infinix, itel, Samsungs J and A series, Huawei’s budget offerings among others but could these also be focused on attaining the top spot by 2019? That remains to be seen.

Tecno even joined on the “trendy” notch bandwagon like the its competitors did many months ago. Yes, the Camon 11 pro is the first notched smartphone produced by the Blue brand however, Infinix already had the feature out on its S3X as well as other high-end brands like the Huawei Mate 20 and iPhone X series. In other words the brand doesn’t want to be left out.

Even with its delay to join the notch league already embraced by its mid-range counterparts, we wonder how the current leader will keep the blue thunder high in 2019.

Itel smartphones are still the most affordable phones on the market however the budget-friendly range is not shaken except that the mid-range market, that now has Infinix mobile trailing Tecno in producing great feature smartphones. Henceforth, in 2019 should we anticipate see the once dominant brands like Huawei and Samsung bounce back to the local market after being silenced by Tecno? That could be possible but won’t be an easy feat to pull off.

As a matter of fact, Fero mobile and Xiaomi are also two dominant brands that might as well launch exciting smartphones in 2019. we ought to look out for them as well. Until all the Tecno foes displace its dominant position, we might just see another gradual take over by the blue brand best known for great battery devices. What do you think?
