The talk of unlimited internet is one of those conversations that haven’t seen the light of a beautiful broad day subscriber loyalty rate than the new weekly data offers pioneered by MTN’s Gaga Wednesday with Africell’s don’t be cheated cruising a mid-week tornado and Airtel offering a weekend 3day treat. Well, what do telecom companies offer when it comes to unlimited internet?
With a blooming snippet of the previous year packages to the current packages where speeds and price are now the drivers of headless data options, the fate of unlimited internet is now a competition between telcos focused on competing for the same subscriber base at a time when bundles prices are exciting with flooded recharge wallets.
Well, the best-unlimited internet for a telecom can be judged by the speeds cap and cost of a package mixed with the availability rate. MTN, Africell, Airtel and Smile are some of those unlimited internet providers you can think of with Roke Telkom coming in as a viable home/work unlimited solution, and with the rate of juice packages offered, here is what these telcos have to offer.
TELECOM | LOW PACKAGE NAME | SPEEDS | COST | VALIDITY |
---|---|---|---|---|
MTN | Unlimited Baic | 2Mbps | 179000 | 1 Month |
Airtel | N/A | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Africell | Unlimited | 512 Kbps | 299000 | 1 Month |
Smile | Unlimited Essential | 4Mbps | 179000 | 1 Month |
Roke Telkom | Roke Unlimited Plus | 5Mbps | 250000 | 1 Month |
Airtel is one of the robust networks with a whole line of packages but their unlimited internet offer seems to be limited to a specific node of users. When we contacted the red network support team we didn’t get any feedback of their unlimited offer and we couldn’t generate an entry of their offer for a close comparison to the competition.
The best Mobile Unlimited Internet provider
All telecom companies offer great unlimited internet packages, except that for the fact that all offered packages are capped. For instance, some of the service providers control your usage rate with daily caps while some have a single joint cap and once it’s met you package slows down with tortoise traces.
Smile and Roke Telkom offer more speeds on unlimited packages than any other provider on the list, but this comes at a cost of depletion. The more speeds your package tastes, the faster it depletes beyond the total cap set by these packages. So, when speeds are high beyond 3Mbps, it means the package has an overall data cap that slows down once you hit the limit.
As per our experience, all network providers offer the same unlimited packages with only a few twists to guarantee a full connection. Henceforth, the unlimited packages are the same with only a hyper grade to premium levels to guarantee a much faster package with basic low caps you can rely on for a proper connection. Nonetheless, share with us your opinion in case you’ve used unlimited internet via any service provider in Uganda.
