For the past few years electric cars in Uganda were thought to be a neglected innovation venture, but guess what? We’ve seen the Kayoola bus concept come to life with plans to hit Kampala streets soon and the newest revelation making rounds on the internet is the newest model of the electric Sedan Kiira EV series that will be tested soon.Call it a version 2.0 or sort of.
Through a tweet published by renowned political Journalist Andrew Mwenda, the new version of the Kiira EV SMACK will apparently be tested on the Entebbe Express Highway soon. “At 2pm tomorrow I will be taking it for road testing on the Entebbe expressway” part of his tweet read, after a long criticized silence of electric cars in Uganda since a 2014 newspaper heading that published a rumored launch in 2018 leaked on the internet.

New features of the Kiira EV SMACK
By the look of things, the new Kiira EV SMACK posted on Twitter is new to our eyes. With a teasing front bumper scaring road users into thinking its a turbo powered car! The Uganda Crested Crane is very visible from a distance as compared to the previous version we had managed to had land on, meaning this is surely the newest version SMACK series.
The new Kiira EV SMACK can be easily mistaken for a brand American or Japanese sedan with a closer look to the car rims and seater alignment with a heavy turbo inspired sound making a statement on the road. So, this could is a redefinition of what we have seen before or expect to be present on electric cars built and manufactured in Uganda.
Henceforth, from the engine sound to the exterior alignments, alot has changed on the Kiira EV SMACK. A closer look at the interior will give us an in-depth preview of the core features on this road beast that could be a possible on-road speed competitor with cars like the Subaru N17 but hybrid.
Expectations
In Uganda, no electric car has ever hit Kampala streets not even Tesla opting to offer a Model 3 to one of the wannabe socialites in Uganda. Well, the Kiira Ev Smack sedans seem to be ready to hit the road sooner than we thought and we expect this car to be available for sale before 2019 comes to a close. Nonetheless, we shall be on the hunt for this road test of the SMACK produced by Kiira motors and prove whether road users are ready to save money spent on the shooting high gas prices.
