Uber introduces free UberBODA rides. Here is how to get them.

Ride hailing services are reshaping how people move around Kampala. Recently, Dial Jack launched in Uganda to add to the existing Boda hailing services. Competition is taking its toll and the players are responding aggressively. They’re providing discounted rides to passengers and luring drivers with more favorable terms, eager to capture a slice of this rapidly growing market. Today, Uber has introduced free UberBODA rides to its users.

How to get free UberBODA rides today.

To enjoy free UberBODA rides, you have to request your trips between 2pm and 5pm. The discount will be auto-applied to the trip and is valid until 8 July 2018.

However, you will still get a 50% discount on all rides requested at other hours. Competition is working in the customers interest with almost many Boda hailing services offering a 50 percent discount on all rides.

You may however not benefit from Uber’s promo if you have to travel after 5pm. But for city hoppers or those that simply want to be in the middle of the soccer action with friends, Uber will get you there!

    Riders are sorted too!

Uber cares about you as much it cares about it’s riders. Uber will fully compensate driver-partners for all trips made during the promotion period so their earnings won’t be affected. All drivers will be compensated, and issued with fuel vouchers worth UGX 50,000 (full tank) and UGX 20,000.

    Will the competition respond?

I really hope it does. The 50 percent discount has been copied and pasted across many ride hailing services. This has tempted many to try out the service because of the reduced prices.

Free rides would be a great addition to the growing market of Boda hailing. The customers will be able to save more, while the companies will acquire new customers. There is a huge chunk of people who are scarred to try out the service, such promos would act like test rides to give these people confidence in the service.
