With the advent of the internet, everything has transformed into its electronic version. Now we have all kinds of gadgets like laptops, phones, and tablets and every business is trying to evolve with the wave and trying to find ways to keep in touch with suppliers and customers through many online channels. In Uganda however, most of the internet providers have internet packages tailored for individual usage and a handful are in the lucrative section of supplying SMEs with the internet.

MTN Uganda Unlimited and Dedicated Business Internet

MTN Uganda started this venture at the beginning of 2018 when they launched the Tukole campaign targeting the uncatered section of entrepreneurs and SMEs in Uganda by providing integrated communication and business solutions.

The dedicated business internet comes in three monthly packages of Lite, standard and premium package which all cost UGX 250,000 for the installation fee.  All bouquets enjoy benefits of unlimited internet access with no need to top up and guaranteed speeds, other features the users can venture, video and music streaming, web surfing, uploads and downloads, cloud-based applications, internet calls, and online banking among others.

Roke Telkom Roke at work package

Roke Telkom stormed the internet business in Uganda in 2015 with a rather different business model by installing wireless access points(APs) in designated places where users would buy vouchers to gain access to the internet. The model registered for them more praise and they further went ahead to optimize their packages to suit the business community with Roke at work data package. The package is divided into two categories; Roke Mega Plus installation fee of UGX500,000 for the internet access.

ROKE Mega Plus This is the cheaper bundle in the Roke at work package which goes for UGX650,000 a month for 300GB at speeds of 5mbps before bundle exhaustion and 1mbps after the data is depleted. They have a peak(7 am to 7 pm) and off-peak(7 pm to 7 am) hours to help optimize the usage of data and let customers enjoy. During the off-peak hours, customers enjoy free internet and all weekend long.

ROKE Enterprise This is our giant offering for those who require robust Internet connectivity and rely heavily on the Internet for their day-to-day business. This package guarantees the highest level of service over our strong fiber network. It is delivered over a wireless or fiber connection, depending on your location.

Africell Dedicated Internet

The self proclaimed kings of the bundles aren’t sleeping when it comes to this part of the business with their dedicated internet packages for businesses. With this offer, you will also be given dedicated bandwidth and connectivity options via Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) or high-grade microwave links using a dedicated data line that connects your office/workplace to the Africell network.

Dedicated internet connectivity to your office will be either through an Optical Fiber Cable or high grade microwave links. In addition to the business internet, you will have;

• 3. Up to 6 additional public IPs on request

The cost of the dedicated internet depends on your location, amount of bandwidth(MBS) you require and the number of users.  We were not able to get an exact figure at the time of writing this article from the support team but I feel Africell deserve a spot here with all the cheap data bundle package out here for individual users.

Smile Internet has been darlings to many companies in past recent years. From their area of coverage to relatively good bandwidth 4G speed, they managed to win many people to their camp. One of the reasons for their success is the cost of their devices, most of their routers are way cheaper than market price.

Zuku Fiber Internet

Zuku fiber internet is one of the best options when it comes to fast internet and they offer unlimited monthly internet with amazing speeds but only available in areas within their fiber network coverage – Naguru; parts of Bukoto & Ntinda.
