    The Tecno C9 officially makes its debut on the Ugandan market: Check out pricing, specs and availability

    Today has seen Tecno launch a successor to its wildly successful C8 the Tecno C9. The C being representative of Camon, a photography centric line of smartphones from the Chinese vendor. It has the C5 and C8 before it and both proved popular amongst Ugandans especially the larger phablet, the C8.

    As is the norm with Tecno’s cutthroat pricing, the C9 doesn’t disappoint at this promise. It will sell for a RRP of UGX 550,000 in most Tecno outlets and dealerships.  It is a refined sibling to C8 and beefs up the latter while diminishing misdemeanors accrued by its predecessor and juicing them up with almost double everything.

    Whereas we embrace the new advancements, additions and pomp, let us compare the C9 to the C8 and live up to the promise of double everything that it is indeed true. We must however come to a conclusion that the C9 dwarfs its predecessor hands down.

    It should be noted that the C9 maxes the resolution from 720p to 1080p and has a beefed up processor now counting eight cores all the way from four. It has a new 13MP selfie camera, not forgetting the addition of LTE to the equation. This speeds up network speeds to a theoretical 100+Mbps since it now has 4G reception.

    The phone’s main attraction being the camera, Tecno stresses that the shutter lag has been reduced to 0.1Seconds up from 0.3 seconds compared to other Camon models. They go to boost of 20% increment in in light absorption by the camera sensor owing to the camera module. With it comes a dedicated shutter button with a host of software tweaks to enhance the C9’s camera visuals like excellent capture

    One surprise omission is the T-band, which Tecno promised to ship together with the C9. This will sell separate of the C9 for UGX 100,000 and is currently not available for purchase till further notice.

    The T-Band is Tecno’s smart wristband capable of toggling the camera to take photos, monitor one’s sleep patterns, number of steps taken among others among others. We shall expound more regarding the newly launched C9 in our review.
