2018 has been the wannabe year for smartphone lovers that want premium features brought as fresh on the mid-range devices they can afford. A year that has seen bezels diminish, Android Oreo flourish, and the notch break out – since its inception on the iPhone X.
Being an industry leader in delivering competitive mid-range smartphones, Tecno was yet to deliver anything outside the expected; despite pointing towards a direction that defined so.
In this year alone, we have seen the Camon CM – the brand’s first release of a smartphone with a full display with an 18:9 aspect ratio – and the Camon X, that we were quick to think was the direct mimic of the iPhone X – given the name and Face ID.
Having seen the notch debut on the Infinix S3X, and quickly garnering love from revellers, it was not going to take long for Tecno to adapt to the trend. And here we go, with the rumoured Camon 11 or XI set to be launched for the African market anytime soon.
What’s new with the Camon 11?
A notch and an AI camera. The notch is a bid to lessen the bezels while giving a user a premium look to the smartphone. The AI is an amplification of the cameras to recognize scenes and adjust automatically for good output.
Besides the news, we expect the usual two variants – a Camon 11 and a Camon 11 Pro; Android Oreo; a selfie-centric front camera; a fingerprint scanner; and dual cameras at the back.
