As per a report from 9to5Mac, there are several new features that will be added in the OS – expected to be available later in the year – and these include the much sought after dark mode.

It is expected that there will be a possibility to enable a system-wide Dark Mode within the phone Settings, with a high contrast version also inclusive, like what the macOS users have already experienced. Similarly, the iPad apps that run on the Mac using Marzipan will be able to have Dark Mode support on both systems.

Multitasking and Undo gesture on the iPad

Apple is adding the ability for apps on your iPad to have multiple windows in iOS 13. Basically, every window will have sheets that are attached to the screen, but can be dragged away using a gesture.

You will be able to stack these cards on top of each other, and easily position each of them either on top or to the bottom using a depth effect. Plus, to flung them away if you want to dismiss them.

Apple is also bringing on board a new undo gesture for text input on the iPad. So, using a three-finger tap on the keyboard area, you will be able to slide left to undo actions and right to redo actions interactively.

    Improvements to Safari

When surfing the internet on your iPad, you won’t have to worry about the websites rendering their iPhone version on the big screen. Safari on iOS 13 for the iPad will automatically ask for a desktop version of websites when necessary.

    New font management panel

On iOS 13, you won’t have to install a profile to get new fonts into the system. Apple is adding a new font management panel in Settings, from where you be able to pick a font of your choice. The system will as well notify you when you open a document that has missing fonts.

    An upgraded Mail app

The new mail app will be able to organize your messages into more recognizable and searchable categories. If you are too busy to read an email, you should be able to add it to a “read later” queue in the iOS 13.

There is also an improvement in the multiple item selection where you will be able to drag items with multiple fingers on a list or collection of items to draw a selection.

The other features expected to come with iOS 13 include a redesigned Reminders app, a new volume HUD, better multilingual support for keyboards and dictation, and expanded in-app printing controls.
