February 20, the due date that Samsung set to unveil its latest gadget technology came, and our anticipation was treated to the feel of new innovation. Much of what was to be announced had, at one point, been in the rumours – thus making the event quite predictable.
However, there were some doubts and unknowns that were meant to make a debut, such as the long awaited foldable phone that Samsung has kept teasing for so many years. Not to leave out, the tenth anniversary Galaxy S, which many have predicted to be a revolution in the industry this year.
Let’s take a look at what Samsung announced at the Galaxy Unpacked Event.
Galaxy Fold
Samsung set the mark to be one of the first manufacturers to market the foldable screen smartphone. The company announced the Galaxy Fold, a phone that features the Infinity Flex display, while letting you unfold it to transition the display to a larger screen.
The Fold has a 7.3 inch display that makes it a tablet when open, while a fold in it makes it a 4.6 inch display. You can use up to three apps at the same time, with the inbuilt Three App multitasking feature since the phone comes with a powerful processor and 12 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Fold will be marketed in black, silver, martian green or astro blue colours and will be ready for purchase by April 26.
Galaxy S10e
Samsung launched a lower-cost and smaller S10 that it chose to name the Galaxy S10E. Starting at $740, it does not have some of the more advanced features you’d get on the other two devices, but it has something worth presenting on the table.
From a 5.8-inch “Dynamic AMOLED” display, with a Full HD+ resolution in a 19:9 aspect ratio; to a dual set of rear cameras that include a wide-angle 12-megapixel and an ultra-wide 16-megapixel. The front camera comes with a 10 megapixel sensor for selfies.
To this you add a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB internal storage, 3100mAh battery, all running on Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI. The S10E is expected to connect to Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and LTE Cat.20.
Galaxy S10
This is the rightful owner of the S10 name, and arguably the guest of honour at the Unpacked event.
It sports a 6.1-inch screen framed with slim bezels around the sides, while earning the rights as the first screen to earn HDR10+ certification, Samsung’s competition against Dolby Vision.
The S10 comes with three rear cameras: a 16-megapixel ultrawide sensor with fixed focus, a main 12-megapixel dual aperture wide-angle lens with OIS, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS too. Not forgetting, the 10-megapixel front-facing camera with dual aperture.
The device will be available in 128GB or 512GB storage variants, either with 8 GB of RAM. If you add support for Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wi-Fi 6, plus a battery capacity is 3400 mAh, a base price of $900 is not a bad figure to art with.
Galaxy S10+
For $100 more, Samsung is offering a larger 6.4 inch screen, and a bigger 4,100 mAh battery on the S10+. This offer delivers the triple-camera setup on the S10’s back, while adding a second 8-megapixel selfie sensor to add to the 10-megapixel camera.
The Galaxy S10 Plus will be available in 128GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options, all with 12GB of RAM.
Galaxy S10 5G
Samsung also unveiled an S10 with 5G capability, and guess what the specs are: a 6.7-inch screen, two cameras on the front plus four on the back.
While the price is yet to be announced, the S10 5G will sport a 4500mAh battery coming with 256GB of storage and 8GB RAM.
Galaxy Watch Active
The Galaxy Watch Active was announced too, coming with 4GB of storage and support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile payments via NFC.
The watch is capable of tracking over39 activities, monitor sleep, count steps, while using the GPS built in. It also includes Samsung’s smart assistant Bixby to make calls or send messages.
Samsung says the watch will cost $199.99 and will be released on March 8th in the US.

Galaxy Fit
Samsung also announced the Galaxy Fit, a fitness tracker designed to be simpler than the watch. It has a rubber strap with a 0.95-inch full color, touch-sensitive AMOLED display.
It can pair over Bluetooth, to monitor the heart rate, and can also charge over NFC wirelessly, in addition to being water resistant. The Galaxy Fit will be available on May 31st for $99.
Galaxy Buds
Just like Apple’s AirPods, Samsung also unveiled its new pair of wireless earbuds – the Galaxy Buds. As expected of them, they are to be helpful mainly in hearing, speaking, and translation.
The buds come with an adaptive dual microphones system and are programmed to work well with Samsung’s Bixby AI assistant. The also feature ‘Enhanced Ambient Sound’ to let you har your surroundings clearly even while they are in your ears.
You can use them for up to six hours while Bluetooth streaming, or up to five hours of calls per charge. Samsung says the case of the Galaxy Buds can be charged wirelessly, and easily on the go with the Galaxy S10.
