    Samsung Galaxy S10: Here is all you need to know as the launch nears

    Samsung is soon announcing its latest of the Galaxy S series -the Galaxy S10 phones. Coming as the successors to the Galaxy S9, as well as carrying the 10th anniversary banner for the company, there is a lot that is making rounds about the upcoming devices.

    Let’s talk about the facts and the rumours about the Galaxy S10 phone; so that you may get to know all about it as the launch date nears.

    Samsung Galaxy S10 Facts

    One thing is for sure: The Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ will be launched at a Galaxy Unpacked event in Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress this February 2019 on February 20th.

    It is also confirmed that the device will run the company’s One UI on top of Android – with the phone hitting the stores in March.

    Samsung Galaxy S10 rumours

    According to reports, Samsung is expected to launch at least three Galaxy S10 devices on the day. An entry-level S10 Lite possesing a 5.8-inch display, a standard 6.1-inch Galaxy S10 and a premium 6.4-inch Galaxy S10+.

    The S10+ is expected to have a 4,000mAh battery, while the standard S10 will come with a 3,500mAh battery. The budget S10 model could bring a 3,000mAh battery with a bezel-free display, and Infinity-O display.

    Several rumours of an in-display fingerprint scanner, as well as the possibility of five cameras, with three on the rear and two on the front ahve surfaced. Other leaks indicate embedded cameras under the display for an Infinity-O display. 

    There are also rumours of a 5G version of the S10+, but we are yet to know whether it will as well launch at the same event, given the availability of 5G networks is still in the pipeline.

    The S10 is talked of as one that will allow users “to wirelessly charge other compatible devices like handsets and watches” by placing them on the handset’s chassis.

    It is also in the corridors that the S10 phones will support the latest Wi-Fi standard, 802.11ax code named Wi-Fi 6. Samsung as well announced that it had started mass-producing 1TB storage drives which could come on the Galaxy S10.
